If you thought you could not do the classic egg & cheese sandwich, you have not yet tried this one. If anything, an even better version of this sandwich can be found only at local flash fried chicken restaurants. Here’s a quick summation of some of my favorite versions:

This is my personal favorite, though I find that many variations of the egg & cheese sandwich are very similar. Usually I am drawn to the sriracha mayo version which adds a tangy, bold flavor that is impossible to miss. I am especially drawn to the “big” name brands like Colby, Good scents, etc. Of course, egg and cheese sandwiches with this combination are typically available at brunch or lunch buffets.

Excellent Egg & Cheese Sandwich Recipe

This is another variation of the egg & cheese sandwich. Made with leftover egg shells, bread crumbs or cracker crumbs, egg salad dressing is made with mayonnaise, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, chili powder, salt and pepper. It can be prepared with tortilla chips, salsa, chopped tomatoes, cheddar cheese and shaved red onions. This is another excellent egg & cheese sandwich recipe.

A German breakfast sandwich is usually topped with fried potatoes, sauerkraut, and sauerkraut eggs (recipe coming soon). The traditional side dish is a bit of fried egg. This sandwich is served hot and is usually accompanied by a fresh salad, some wine and maybe some blini. If making this sandwich at home, remember to add the needed ingredients before starting.

A German Coffee Sandwich

A German coffee sandwich is normally served with kenne fries, sauerkraut, and a bit of sliced fresh ginger. Sometimes sauerkraut is added to the egg sandwich as well. This sandwich usually has an additional egg side dish. Coffee can be added to the latke as well. This is another delicious egg & cheese sandwich.

Country fried steak on French bread is a great way to experience authentic German dishes. Making this at home is not difficult. A tablespoon of flour, some egg, milk and bacon fat are combined. A slice of French bread is cut into strips and then the mixture is cooked in a frying pan until it turns out golden brown. Add some barbecue sauce and chopped onions and you have a real treat!

There Are Many Variations

An egg & cheese sandwich may sound like something simple, but actually there are many variations. You can make them using different types of cheese and bacon or using just eggs and none of the other ingredients. You can do it with ham as well, but only if you have no ham or no cheese. Any type of meat will do as long as you have some eggs to mix in. The choice is yours and what you do with them is up to you.

Most people who eat egg & cheese sandwiches do so with ham because that is easily incorporated. Many times you can use him to get the same effect as using only eggs. If you want to add him to your sandwich, simply cook your ham along with some bacon and onion. Another alternative, and one more popular choice, are to add mayo to the eggs before putting it in the sandwich. You may have to experiment a bit to find the proper ratio of mayo to egg, but it is a good thing to do if you are not sure.

Cheese And Bacon

Cheese and bacon also have come in their own unique ways. Providing both of them to you is easy enough, but you might want to try your hand at different combinations. For instance, using mozzarella instead of cheddar can produce a nice variation. Likewise using Colby-Jack cheese is another way to make a sandwich more interesting. Using only mayo is a nice change from the traditional egg & bacon.

Another option that you have is to use another type of bread besides the traditional egg & cheese sandwich bread. Instead of putting your sandwich on an egg & cheese plate, try putting it on whole wheat or sourdough sandwich bread. This allows you to use two types of sandwich bread which gives you a little variety. It will be a good idea to replace the mayo with something that does not contain any bacon slices. An example is relish.

Final Words

The final consideration when making your best bacon egg & cheese sandwich would be to enjoy your bread with a glass of wine. Although this is a last minute thing to do, it will definitely add to the overall theme of your meal. The wine will go well with the cheese as well as the ham, which make it a perfect combination. By combining the best elements from each component, your homemade bread should have a satisfying taste that everyone will love.
