Tofu is a low-fat soy product that is rich in protein and calcium. There are many tofu recipes, however, we’ll keep it simple by giving you 5 easy tofu recipes you can easily make at home.

1) Tofu Scramble

Ingredients:

1 block tofu, crumbled

1/2 onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 green bell pepper, diced

1/4 cup nutritional yeast

1 tsp turmeric

salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

Preheat a large pan over medium heat. Sauté the onions and garlic until soft.

Add in the tofu and bell pepper and continue to cook until everything is soft.

Stir in the nutritional yeast, turmeric, salt, and pepper. Cook for another minute or two. Serve hot!

2) Tofu Bacon

Ingredients:

1 block tofu, sliced into thin strips

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

1/4 tsp smoked paprika

1/8 tsp cayenne pepper

1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, and black pepper. Add in the tofu strips and coat evenly.

Place tofu strips on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 25 minutes or until slightly browned and crispy. Serve hot!

3) Tofu Quiche

Ingredients:

1 block tofu, crumbled

2 tbsp arrowroot powder

1/2 cup unsweetened soy or almond milk

1 tsp onion powder

1/4 tsp turmeric

salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease an 8×8 baking pan with cooking spray. Set aside.

Blend tofu in a food processor until it has an egg consistency. Add in the rest of the ingredients except for the arrowroot powder. Blend well, then add in the arrowroot powder and blend once more until everything is evenly combined (a few lumps are okay).

Pour tofu mixture into your prepared baking dish and bake for 45 minutes. Serve hot!

4) Tofu Red Curry

This tofu red curry recipe is inspired by the traditional Thai coconut milk-based curry dishes, such as Massaman curry and Panang curry.

Ingredients:

1 block tofu, cubed

2 tbsp soy sauce

1/2 cup water

1 tbsp fresh ginger root, minced

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 shallots, diced

2 tbsp tomato paste

salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

In a large pot over medium heat, combine all ingredients except for tofu. Stir well.

Bring mixture to a boil then reduce heat and let simmer for 5 minutes or until slightly thickened.

Add tofu cubes and gently stir so tofu pieces are evenly covered with the sauce.

5) Tofu “Chicken” Salad

Ingredients:

1 block tofu, crumbled

1/4 cup vegan mayonnaise (we recommend Vegenaise)

2 stalks celery, diced

3 tbsp fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped

1/4 tsp paprika

salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

In a large bowl, combine tofu with vegan mayonnaise until tofu is evenly coated.

Gently stir in celery, parsley or cilantro, paprika, salt, and pepper.

Serve on bread or lettuce leaves!
